JOB SUMMARY

The Junior Project Manager/Technical Business Analyst is a critical piece of the overall project team tasked with development, implementation, and maintenance of client systems. Candidates for this position must be detail oriented, have strong written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain effective client relationships throughout the life cycle of the project.

The resource will work with developers and end users in an application development environment and primarily be responsible for requirements gathering, technical specification documentation, developing test scenarios, and testing. In addition, the resource will work with the Senior Project Manager in overseeing the overall software development effort.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management Functions (in conjunction with Senior Project Manager)
  • Identifies, tracks, manages, and resolves project risks and issues.
  • Develops Project Management Office deliverables.
  • Provides overall leadership and management of project resources.
  • Defines and collects metrics to give a sense of how the project is progressing and whether the deliverables produced are acceptable.
  • Manages the overall schedule to ensure work is assigned and completed on time and within scope and budget.
  • Works closely with Senior Management in reporting project status and concerns. 
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with the customer's management and project teams.
Analyzes and Defines Client Business Functions
  • Collaborates with clients to understand and define their business functions and processes.
  • Defines system requirements, flows, and interfaces based on customer needs.
Facilitates Requirement Gathering Sessions
  • Leads workshops and meetings to gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.
Analyzes Complex Data Sets
  • Utilizes analytical skills to analyze complex data sets and provides insights to support business decision-making.
Communicates Requirements
  • Effectively communicates business requirements to the project team for application development purposes.
  • Develops software requirements specifications.
Translates Requirements into Documentation/Creates and Provides Detailed Documentation to Clients
  • Translates business requirements into clear and concise user, technical, and system documentation.
  • Creates detailed documentation to address application and process issues, ensuring comprehensive coverage of requirements and solutions.
  • Delivers user, technical, and system documentation to clients and stakeholders as needed.
Develops and Coordinates/Collaborates/Serves as Point of Contact – User Test Environment
  • Develops test scenarios and coordinates user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Works closely with developers during UAT to ensure applications meet business requirements and resolve any issues identified.
  • Gathers and manages user feedback during testing phases, including implementation feedback and requests for enhancements.
Logs and Tracks Issues
  • Logs reported issues, track their resolution progress and ensure timely closure.
Ensures Applications Meet Client Needs
  • Ensures that applications and associated test applications developed meet the functional and non-functional requirements of clients.
  • Ensues that the solution is of acceptable quality.
Provides Training
  • Conducts training sessions for users on new systems and applications as required.
Provides Production Support
  • Works closely with the project team to troubleshoot and address production issues.
  • Tracks and communicates the status and resolution of production issues.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems or a related field.
  • PMP Certification or interest in obtaining PMP Certification, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
 
  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, or project management roles, preferably in a technical environment.
  • Experience with technical requirements gathering, technical specification documentation, developing test scenarios, and testing.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
 
  • Familiarity with business process modeling (BPMN) and workflow tools.
  • Basic understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools like Jira, Trello, or MS Project.
  • Basic understanding of technical concepts related to software development, databases, or cloud technologies.
  • Exposure to project management frameworks such as PMP, Scrum, or PRINCE2.
  • Displays excellent business and technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral communication skills and the ability to engage a particular audience while communicating with clients and project team members. 
  • Maintains the ability to work closely with Senior Management in reporting project status and concerns 
  • Employs a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivated; will seek out and engage the individuals necessary to achieve clarity and develop effective solutions.
  • Technical problem-solving aptitude and diagnostic ability.
  • Provides a proactive approach to all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Must be comfortable working in the eastern time zone.
